Bariatric surgery we perform
For some, weight loss using diet and exercise just doesn't work. Factors such as hormones and genetics play a huge factor, and bariatric surgery is the best option. If you are considering weight loss surgery, our providers are here to discuss your options, which include:
- Gastric bypass — This approach reduces the size of your stomach to restrict your food intake
- Gastric sleeve — This surgery is typically minimally invasive and reduces your stomach size and shape to a sleeve-like pouch
From the first consultation, we create a positive supportive environment to encourage you to meet your health goals.
Qualify for weight loss surgery
Your body mass index is a key factor in determining your eligibility for bariatric surgery. BMI is a way to measure body fat that is based on your height and weight.
In order to qualify, you need to have one of the following:
- a BMI of 40 or higher
- a BMI of 35 or higher with an obesity-related condition such as high blood pressure, sleep apnea or heart disease
- a BMI of 30 or higher with type 2 diabetes that isn't responsive to medical treatments and lifestyle changes
