Medical City McKinney offers robust outpatient treatment to support adults who are facing challenges that are impacting daily life activities and responsibilities.
These programs are led by our experienced team of experts who will integrate evidence-based clinical programming to provide you with new tools to master the practical challenges of everyday life. Our programs are designed to help anyone who:
- May be experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties
- Has symptoms of depression, anxiety and/or other obstacles when functioning in everyday situations
- Needs support to achieve stabilization
- Wants to develop coping skills and learn to manage stress
- Needs coaching for goal achievement
- Has recently been in an inpatient setting or simply needs a structured support program
Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
This day program includes group therapy among peers, medication management with a board-certified psychiatrist, nursing education and recreational therapy.
PHP meets Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Lunch is included.
Intensive outpatient program (IOP)
The program provides care for individuals who are stable on medications but in need of psychotherapy intervention. In a group setting, participants learn healthy coping skills and gain tools to better manage future stressors and challenges.
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
ECT is a safe, efficient and effective way to relieve symptoms of depression and other psychiatric illnesses. ECT can be more effective than antidepressant medication and transcranial magnetic stimulation. ECT can be performed on an outpatient or inpatient basis, depending on your needs.
You may be an ideal ECT candidate if you:
- Are in need of a definitive and rapid treatment method
- Have had multiple psychiatric hospitalizations and have the potential to regress rapidly
- Have or experience depression or bipolar disorders (including mania, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia and catatonia)
