Sharn Barbarin
LaSharndra “Sharn” Barbarin, MHA, FACHE, is chief executive officer at Medical City Arlington, joining the executive leadership team in 2022.
As CEO, Barbarin provides leadership, strategic direction and direct administrative responsibility for all aspects of financial operations, clinical quality and patient experience for Medical City Arlington.
With more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, Barbarin began her career with HCA Healthcare as an administrative fellow at Medical City Las Colinas and was quickly promoted to COO at Medical City McKinney where she served nine years. She was advanced to COO at Medical City Arlington in 2011 before being promoted to CEO at Medical City Lewisville in 2015.
Outside of the hospital, Barbarin has served in community leadership positions including the DFW Hospital Council Board of Trustees, the board of directors for the Lewisville and Flower Mound Chambers of Commerce, Medical City Healthcare Diversity and Inclusion Council, the HCA Healthcare Division Diversity and Inclusion Council and the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund Board, among others.
Barbarin has been honored with multiple awards including the Dallas Business Journal “Minority Business Leader,” “Outstanding Alumni” by Tulane University’s School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, “Top 25 Women in Business” by McKinney Living, “Young Healthcare Executive of the Year” nominee by the DFW Hospital Council and named a “2022 Women in Business” honoree by the Dallas Business Journal.
Barbarin is a graduate of Louisiana State University and earned a Master of Health Administration from Tulane University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mathis Adams, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Mathis Adams MD, FACS, was named chief medical officer (CMO) of Medical City Arlington and Medical City Women’s Hospital Arlington in July 2024.
In his role, Dr. Adams provides senior clinical direction and leads continuous care and quality efforts, collaborating closely with physicians, clinicians and colleagues. Before coming to Arlington, he served in the same role for Medical City Denton since August 2021 and for Medical City Decatur since January 2023.
Dr. Adams began his career as a general surgeon in private practice before transitioning to practice acute care and trauma surgery until 2021. As a trauma surgeon, Dr. Adams began working with Envision Surgical Services. He held several leadership roles during his 11 years with Envision, including president.
Dr. Adams earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Abilene Christian University and a medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He is certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
Jim Allard
Jim Allard, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, joined Medical City Arlington as chief nursing officer in August 2022.
Allard, who has been with HCA Healthcare since 2013, previously was chief nursing officer at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas and at one time served as director of pediatric services there.
Before coming to North Texas, Allard previously served as assistant chief nursing officer at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, part of the HCA Gulf Coast Division. He also worked in several leadership roles at The Women’s Hospital of Texas.
Allard earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Texas Christian University and a master’s degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Wendy McClain
Chief Operating Officer
Wendy McClain was named chief operating officer of Medical City Arlington in September 2024.
As COO, McClain provides leadership and direct administrative oversight for daily hospital operations under the direction of the CEO including strategic planning, project management, enhancing services, and patient and physician experience.
McClain brings extensive leadership and operational experience. She previously served as vice president of operations at HCA Healthcare’s Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Among her many accomplishments, she led the facility through several major capital improvement projects.
McClain earned a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Tulsa. She is an American College of Healthcare Executives member and an active community volunteer with several non-profit organizations.
Nathan Tindall
Nathan Tindall joined Medical City Arlington as chief financial officer in Feb. 2024. As CFO, Tindall is responsible for finance, case management, patient administration systems, supply chain, revenue integrity, health information management and information technology and services.
Before this role, Tindall served as the CFO for HCA Healthcare’s West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho. He also held previous leadership roles for HCA Healthcare hospitals in North Carolina and New Hampshire.
Tindall earned a Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of Medical City Arlington furthers the mission of the hospital by ensuring high-quality patient care in coordination with hospital leadership, advising on community needs and advocating on behalf of the hospital. Trustees represent key corporate, philanthropic and physician leaders from the Arlington community.
