Medical City Healthcare visitation guidelines
General Visitation Guidelines & Information
- Visitors with cough, cold, flu, or COVID-like symptoms should not visit the hospital.
- By entering Medical City Arlington as a visitor, you acknowledge that you are not currently experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- Loss of taste or smell
- If you are uncertain and plan to visit, for the safety of our patients and loved ones, please consider wearing a mask during your visit.
- Given the critical nature of patients in one department over another, each department may have different visitation guidelines and hours. Please check specific departments below for hours and rules specific to that department.
Visiting hours
General Patients
Every day from 10:00am - 8:30pm. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Critical Care Unit
CCU visiting hours begin at 10:00am and occur every two hours until 10:00pm. We can only accommodate two visitors at a time. Please limit the length of your visit to 30 minutes.
Pediatrics & Maternity
Visitors must sign in with security in the Women’s Center lobby before visiting a patient in these units. Medical City Arlington promotes family-centered care, which includes 24 hour visitation.

Local Restaurant & Hotel Accommodations
Medical City Arlington is located in Arlington, Texas, with convenient access to restaurants, hotels, shopping and entertainment services. Medical City Arlington partners with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce to provide access to services loved ones may need during a hospital stay. Free Parking/Valet Services
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we expand our facility to provide compassionate care to more patients and loved ones. We recognize construction impacts parking and suggest you take advantage of free valet services (see below) and local shuttles to transport you across campus.
Free patient and visitor parking is available:
- Medical City Arlington Main Entrance Parking Lot (between the hospital and Matlock Road)
- Pavilion I Professional Office and the Emergency Department Parking lot
- Parking garage located at the corner of Matlock Road and Omega Road
Free patient and visitor valet services are available:
- Parking garage (first floor-look for signs) located at the corner of Matlock Road and Omega Road between 7:00am - 5:00pm.
Bank Machines
For your convenience, an automatic teller machine (ATM) is available on the first floor just outside the Medical Mall between the Laboratory and the Heart Vascular Center.
Gift Shop
The hospital's gift shop is located in the Family Reception Area. The gift shop is operated by Cloverkey and offers gifts for people of all ages, get-well gifts, toys, games, fresh flowers, balloons, convenience items, electronics, snacks and drinks.
The gift shop accepts cash and credit cards. Free on-campus delivery is available.

- Orders placed within 2 hours of gift shop closing are delivered the same day.
Gift shop hours:
- Monday - Friday: 8am to 7pm
- Saturday/Sunday: 10am to 5pm
Guest Meal Trays
Family members may order a guest tray to be delivered to the patient's room during regular meal service hours at an additional cost. Please ask your nurse how to purchase a guest meal tray.
Internet Access
Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet access is available throughout the hospital, including patient rooms and public areas, free of charge for the convenience of our patients and guests. This public network can be accessed from anywhere within the hospital.
To access the MCA Wireless Network:
- Search for wireless networks
- Select and connect to the network listed as "Guest_Access"
- Once selected, the Acceptable Use policy will be shown
- After reviewing the policy, choose "I Agree"
- Open your browser and you'll be directed to the HCA website
Pastoral Care
Illness often turns one's attention to spiritual matters. The Hospital Chapel is located on the first floor around the corner from the Medical Mall. The Chapel is open at all times to every denomination. A Hospital Chaplain is available throughout the week and may be requested by calling the Hospital Operator. In addition, a team of Pastoral Care Volunteers make hospital rounds throughout the week. Please tell your nurse if you would like a chaplain visit. In addition, emergency Chaplain visits are available 24 hours a day by contacting the hospital operator.
Security
Uniformed security guards are available on the medical campus 24 hours a day for the benefit of patients and visitors. If you or your family need escort services to a parked vehicle, contact the Hospital Operator.
Valuables and Personal Belongings
We request that you leave all valuables at home. Medical City Arlington does not accept responsibility for lost or stolen valuables or personal items. If necessary, your nurse can arrange to store small items in the hospital safe.
Food and Snacks
The cafeteria is located on the first floor of the hospital past the Medical Mall. Meals are served three times a day. Vending machines are also located in the cafeteria.
Televisions
All patient rooms have a television with a wide array of cable channels. Many rooms also have VCR and/or DVD players.
