Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award 2024

Dallas, Texas — Nine Medical City Healthcare hospitals have been recognized with a 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ by Healthgrades, a leading consumer resource for finding a hospital or doctor.

Medical City Arlington, Medical City Alliance, Medical City Dallas, Medical City Denton, Medical City Fort Worth, Medical City McKinney, Medical City North Hills, Medical City Plano and Medical City Weatherford each earned the 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award.

“These achievements reflect our system’s dedication to providing safe, high-quality care for patients,” says Medical City Healthcare President Allen Harrison. “From investments and processes to leadership commitment and new technology, an exceptional safety culture at all levels is among the many reasons North Texans turn to Medical City Healthcare as the destination of choice for healthcare excellence.”

To determine the nation’s premier hospitals for patient safety, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and death rates for approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Patients who seek care at hospitals receiving the 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award have a significantly lower risk of experiencing one of the four leading patient safety indicators than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals.

“We’re proud to recognize these Medical City Healthcare hospitals for their commitment to ensuring a best-in-class hospital stay for all patients,” says Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data sciences at Healthgrades.
