Fort Worth, Texas — In recognition of Military Appreciation Month, Medical City Healthcare colleagues assembled and delivered care packages to the USO lounge at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, supporting military service members traveling through one of the nation’s busiest airports.

Each care package included snacks, toiletries and a handwritten note of appreciation from a Medical City Healthcare colleague. The donations were delivered by Joe Arias, chair of Medical City Healthcare’s North Texas Military Colleague Network and director of IT at Medical City Fort Worth.

“This was a simple but meaningful way to thank the men and women who have served,” says Arias. “Every item and every handwritten note are a reminder that we see you, we honor you and we’re here for you.”

The DFW USO lounge provides support and hospitality to active-duty service members and veterans from across the country. This effort reflects Medical City Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to compassionate care, honoring veterans and supporting military families year-round.

As part of HCA Healthcare, Medical City Healthcare proudly supports military veterans and their families through hiring initiatives, workplace resources and community partnerships. Since 2012, HCA Healthcare has hired more than 65,000 veterans, active-duty and reserve personnel and military spouses.

The organization has also been named a “Best for Vets” Employer by Military Times for five consecutive years. Through efforts like the Military Colleague Network, HCA Healthcare helps promote belonging, mentorship and purpose for colleagues who have served.
