Look Good... Feel Better
Look Good...Feel Better is a free program sponsored by the American Cancer Society and Medical City Lewisville that teaches beauty techniques to female cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. There will be trained, volunteer cosmetologists to teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. The free cosmetic kits are available in light, medium, dark and extra dark shades to enhance all complexion types. Women also learn ways to disguise hair loss with wigs, scarves and other accessories.
The group meets from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the 4th floor community room of the main patient tower. For meeting dates or more information, please call (972) 420-1095.
A Matter of Balance
Do you have concerns about falling? Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. This free eight-week program is offered twice a year at Medical City Lewisville.
For more information or to register, please call the Joint Restoration Institute at Medical City Lewisville at (972) 420-1800.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Support Group is for families with babies currently in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is made up of parents that have previously had babies in our NICU, nursing staff and parents of new premature or critically ill babies. It is an opportunity for new parents to hear stories from other families who have been through similar experiences.
The group provides emotional support and friendship for families who know and understand what they are going through. This is one more way we strive to provide "special care for special babies," by providing help and support to their parents.
Meeting information will be given upon admission.
