Medical City Weatherford will be conducting a training exercise on hospital’s safety preparedness and its commitment to caring for the community.
Weatherford, Texas — Medical City Weatherford will be conducting an active shooter training exercise on Oct. 30, in collaboration with local police, fire, emergency medical services (EMS) and Weatherford College.
Medical City Weatherford is alerting the public to be aware that during the exercise, people in surrounding areas may hear loud noises, including simulated gunshots. Local radios or certain cell phone apps may pick up radio communication activity.
The training exercise is a critical component of the hospital’s safety preparedness and its commitment to caring for the community. Simulating real-world scenarios and working alongside community partners enables hospital staff and first responders to enhance emergency response capabilities. Emergency services, including the Weatherford Police Department, Weatherford Fire Rescue, Weatherford Emergency Management, and Parker County Hospital District EMS will be actively involved. Students from Weatherford College will also participate.
