Ten years of excellence at Medical City Alliance

Medical City Alliance is celebrating ten years of healthcare excellence with a community reception and a $1,000 donation to Community Storehouse on Feb. 20 in honor of the hospital’s tenth anniversary.

“We are proud to have become the destination of choice for healthcare excellence in the Alliance corridor and surrounding area,” says Medical City Alliance CEO Glenn Wallace. “We look forward to the next decade and beyond demonstrating how we care for our community like family in every action, every patient, every time.”

Community members are invited to join Medical City Alliance colleagues and friends for an anniversary reception in the hospital’s front lobby on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 11:00am-1:00pm, The Metroport Chamber will assist with a ribbon-cutting to celebrate 10 years of caring for the community.

The hospital got its start in 2011 as the free-standing ER at Alliance. Construction began in spring 2014 to build out a full-service hospital around the existing ER. The hospital opened on Feb. 19, 2015, with 55 beds – and has since expanded to 141 beds and over 650 employees, helping care for thousands of patients. Reflecting this growth, ER visits and hospital admissions have more than quadrupled since 2015. Recent statistics mirror the substantial increase in patients served annually:

• Admissions: 8,068
• Births: 1,294
• ER Visits: 78,945
• Surgeries: 4,077

Medical City Alliance proudly supports the community through donations, sponsorships and involvement with a number of community partners each year, including the Community Storehouse, Metroport Chamber of Commerce, area school districts and other important initiatives and organizations. The hospital’s “Spooktakular” fall festival welcomes thousands of community attendees annually. The event provides a safe environment for families to trunk or treat and receive free health education.
