An outpatient rehabilitation program allows patients to stay at home during their recovery and receive therapy on their schedule. It is usually less intensive than inpatient rehabilitation.

Our outpatient rehabilitation programs
Our hospital offers a comprehensive outpatient therapy and rehabilitation program with services at multiple locations.
Aquatic therapy
Ours is the only facility in Wise County to offer aquatic therapy. Our certified aquatic therapists work with you in our 750-square-foot, warm water therapy pool and our 25-meter lap pool. Aquatic therapy is beneficial for a number of conditions, such as broken bones and arthritis. The water’s buoyancy decreases the force on the joints while providing excellent resistance for strength training.
Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
Our cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program provides monitored exercise sessions and education if you have been diagnosed with heart disease, have recently had heart surgery (stent, bypass or open heart) or have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma or symptomatic lung disease. Our therapists can help improve your health and breathing with steady progress.
Occupational therapy
Our licensed occupational therapists use purposeful activities and interventions to improve life and work skills. If you are limited by physical injury or illness, a developmental or learning disability, a cognitive impairment or are recovering from surgery, our occupational therapy program might be right for you.
Pediatric therapy
We offer a comprehensive pediatric therapy program to serve the needs of our youngest patients. Our pediatric therapy clinic is staffed by therapists with training in pediatric care and equipped with specialized, kid-sized equipment. The clinic offers physical, occupational and speech therapy for children with a wide range of diagnoses.
Physical therapy
Whether you’ve had an illness, injury or surgery that has left you with less mobility or strength, physical therapy can help restore movement and function and relieve pain. Our experienced physical therapists use several treatments, such as manual therapy, ultrasound and strength and conditioning exercises, to help you regain your abilities as much as possible.
Respiratory therapy
This program works closely with our cardiac rehabilitation program. Our respiratory therapists offer extensive one-on-one education, which helps you recover more quickly and ensures better outcomes when you complete the program.
We have a variety of treatments as well as diagnostic tests and patient education. Some of these include:
