Medical City Healthcare leads North Texas in Leapfrog "A" safety grades

Medical City Healthcare hospitals earned more Leapfrog "A" Hospital Safety Grade recognitions than any other North Texas health system.

November 13, 2023

Dallas, Texas — Nine Medical City Healthcare hospitals earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, more than any other North Texas health system. The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog, sets standards for excellence in patient care.

Medical City Alliance, Medical City Dallas, Medical City Denton, Medical City Fort Worth, Medical City Frisco, Medical City Lewisville, Medical City McKinney, Medical City Plano and Medical City Weatherford are recognized with an “A” for providing safe care to patients and the community.

“These outstanding national safety ratings reflect our expert physicians, staff and clinicians shared dedication across Medical City Healthcare to providing safe, high-quality care in every action, for every patient, every time,” says Allen Harrison, president of Medical City Healthcare.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.

“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Medical City Healthcare has made a true commitment to put patients first,” says Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
