After Sunchit developed adolescent kidney failure and could not find a transplant match, his family found donor Catherine, mother of two through social media.
When Sunchit developed unforeseen health problems at 13, his parents did not expect he would be on dialysis and diagnosed with adolescent kidney failure two years later. Faced with the fact his parents were not a transplant match and his next closest relatives lived in India, his family turned to social media for help.
That's when Catherine, a Coppell mother of two young kids, answered the call and signed up for testing. Catherine said, "I wanted to be an example of sacrificial love like Jesus." Her prayer came true.
In August 2022, she donated her healthy kidney to Sunchit. Both patients are doing great, and their families look forward to celebrating a lifelong friendship.
