Fort Worth, TX – Medical City Fort Worth marked a significant milestone in its $37 million hospital expansion with a beam-signing ceremony on Friday, March 7. Hospital leaders, physicians and colleagues gathered to sign the final structural beam before it was placed, commemorating progress toward expanding access to advanced, high-quality care for patients across North Texas.

The expansion, which includes new catheterization laboratories and additional operating rooms, reflects Medical City Fort Worth’s commitment to delivering exceptional care through innovation and growth. This project also strengthens Medical City Healthcare’s comprehensive system of care, ensuring that more patients have access to specialized treatments close to home.

“This expansion represents our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our community,” says John Hoover, CEO of Medical City Fort Worth. “Placing this final beam is more than a construction milestone; it is a symbol of our investment in the future of healthcare, ensuring that every patient receives exceptional, specialized care in a world-class environment.”

The beam signing ceremony is a time-honored tradition in construction, signifying progress, collaboration and a shared vision for the future. By participating in this event, Medical City Fort Worth’s team reinforced its mission to deliver excellence always, expanding access to life-saving cardiovascular, surgical and critical care services.

With completion expected in late 2025, this expansion will enhance patient care and further strengthen the hospital’s role as a regional leader in advanced medicine.

The expansion is part of an unprecedented era of growth for Medical City Healthcare, which opened Medical City Mental Health & Wellness Center | Alliance in February. Over five years, Medical City Healthcare has invested more than $1.7 billion in capital improvements, including building acquisitions and expansions, facility enhancements and leading-edge technology.
