Medical City Denton earns "A" safety designation for 20th consecutive time
Denton, Texas — Medical City Denton has earned an “A” for safety from The Leapfrog Group for the 20th consecutive time. Only 11 hospitals – 0.47% – can claim this elite status for hospital safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A”, “B”, “C”, “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“This elite honor is the direct result of the tireless commitment of our leaders, colleagues, physicians and volunteers who ensure that patients and families receive consistent quality and compassionate care,” says Steve Edgar, CEO of Medical City Denton and Medical City Argyle. “Safety is not a one-time goal. It’s how we have demonstrated our constant dedication to our community in every action, every patient, every time.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
