Decatur, Texas — Jason Wren, CEO of Medical City Decatur, has been named by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the 118 rural hospital and health system CEOs to know.
The Becker’s Hospital Review team conducted an in-depth editorial research and reviewed nominations to compile the list of rural hospitals and CEOs. These healthcare hospitals and systems are essential in delivering high-quality care to patients in remote areas, reducing the need for long-distance travel and ensuring access to vital services close to home. The CEOs highlighted are leading transformative efforts by expanding services, recruiting skilled healthcare professionals and investing in facility upgrades. These leaders have implemented innovative, resilient strategies to ensure their hospitals continue to thrive and serve their communities effectively.
As CEO, Wren provides leadership, strategic direction and direct administration responsibility for all aspects of financial operations, clinical quality and patient experience for Medical City Decatur.
Wren is an active member of the Wise County community and serves on the board of directors for the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals, is president of the City of Decatur’s Economic Development Corporation board of directors and is a former member of the Decatur City Council. He served as a board member for the Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange from 2018 until December 2023 and on THA’s Council on Policy Development from 2018 until 2022. He also serves as a director of the Texas Hospital Association’s (THA) Member Solutions board.
