Medical City Frisco expands emergency, women's services
Frisco,Texas — Medical City Frisco is adding capacity in two key services as part of an ongoing commitment to expanding its systems of care in the growing community.
The addition of two new patient rooms in the emergency department will increase capacity in the ER. Emergency room visits have increased more than 12 percent year-over-year at Medical City Frisco, a Level III Trauma Center.
In May, the women’s services unit also opened a new operating room. Deliveries have increased more than 20 percent year-over-year at Medical City Frisco. The new operating room is on the same floor as the labor and delivery area, allowing for more efficient care in closer proximity.
“The reputation of our expert, compassionate care teams is why so many people turn to us as the destination of choice for healthcare excellence,” says Ken Stevens, CEO of Medical City Frisco. “With increased patient volumes, these new care spaces will allow Medical City Frisco to continue to meet the growing needs of the community.”
Both unit expansions are part of Medical City Healthcare’s major capital investment initiative of more than $1.7 billion spent or committed over five years, including building expansions, facility enhancements and leading-edge technology.
