Dallas, Texas — Ten Medical City Healthcare hospitals have earned the 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades, placing them in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety.

Medical City Arlington, Medical City Dallas, Medical City Denton, Medical City Fort Worth, Medical City Frisco, Medical City Lewisville, Medical City McKinney, Medical City North Hills, Medical City Plano and Medical City Weatherford each earned the 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award.

“We are proud to care for our community by delivering safe, high-quality and compassionate care,” says Medical City Healthcare president Allen Harrison. “This recognition reflects the strength of our system of care and our shared commitment to excellence always in every action, every patient, every time.”

These patient safety achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. To determine the national leaders in patient safety, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates from approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide across 13 patient safety indicators (PSIs), with each PSI representing a serious, preventable complication. Patients treated in hospitals that received the 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award have a significantly lower chance of experiencing certain complications than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals.

"The data behind this year’s Patient Safety Excellence Award highlights how measurable improvements in safety can prevent thousands of complications,” says Alana Biggers, MD, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “By prioritizing evidence-based safety practices, these Medical City Healthcare hospitals are achieving better clinical outcomes and cultivating a culture where patients come first.”

Additionally, Medical City Healthcare parent company HCA Healthcare has a long history of advancing patient safety through collaboration with leading public and private institutions. Through research initiatives like REDUCE MRSA, ABATE, Swap Out, CLUSTER and INSPIRE the organization continues to contribute to evidence-based practices that advance infection prevention and strengthen the safety and reliability of care for patients.
