We can diagnose and treat a range of cancerous gynecological conditions, including:

Our gynecological cancer program
Your specialist will walk you through your treatment options and create a custom plan tailored to your specific diagnosis and medical history. Your physician may also incorporate care through our gynecology program.
Gynecological cancer treatment
Cancer treatment options available at Medical City Arlington, Medical City Dallas and Medical City Plano include gynecological cancer surgery. We offer procedures such as hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and excision (partial removal of an organ) along with nonsurgical options, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Cervical cancers we treat
We treat all types of cervical cancers, including:
- Squamous cell carcinomas — Affect skin cells and are the most common type of cervical cancer, accounting for roughly 90% of cases
- Adenocarcinomas — Form in the tissue found in blood vessels and organs
- Adenosquamous carcinomas (mixed carcinomas) — Have features of both types of cervical cancer
Ovarian cancers we treat
We treat ovarian cancers, including:
- Epithelial ovarian tumors — Develop in the outer surface of the ovaries and are the most common type of ovarian cancer
- Ovarian germ cell tumors — Make up about 2% of all ovarian cancers and develop from the cells that produce the eggs (ova)
- Ovarian stromal tumors — Account for about 1% of all ovarian cancers and often cause abnormal vaginal bleeding
Uterine cancers we treat
We treat many cancers of the uterus, including:
- Uterine leiomyosarcomas — The most common type of uterine sarcomas and can grow and spread quickly
- Endometrial stromal sarcomas — Rare type of tumor and are often hard to detect and treat
- Undifferentiated sarcomas — Can grow and spread quickly
- Benign uterine tumors (fibroid tumors) — May need to be removed if they cause problems, such as pain, bleeding and bladder or bowel issues
Endometrial cancers we treat
We treat many cancers of the endometrium (the innermost lining layer of the uterus), also called endometrial carcinomas, including:
- Endometrioid carcinomas — The most common type of endometrial adenocarcinoma
- Uterine carcinosarcomas — Have features of both endometrial carcinomas and uterine sarcomas
Vaginal cancers we treat
We treat vaginal cancers, including:
- Squamous cell carcinomas — The most common type of vaginal cancer and tend to develop slowly over time
- Adenocarcinomas —Make up most of all other vaginal cancer cases
- Very rare vaginal cancers — Melanomas (skin cancers) and vaginal sarcomas (tumors found in bones or soft tissues)
Vulvar cancers we treat
We treat cancers of the vulva, including:
- Squamous cell carcinomas — Such as keratinizing squamous cell carcinomas (the most common type, often seen in older women) and the types more often found in younger women and associated with the human papillomavirus virus (HPV)
- Adenocarcinomas — Includes Bartholin gland cancer (cancer affecting glands found in the vagina) and Paget's disease (a disease affecting bone health) of the vulva
- Less common vulvar cancers — Including melanomas and sarcomas
