When first-time mom Lindsay Tidwell was induced at 37 weeks at Medical City Dallas due to gestational hypertension, she understandably felt nervous about the delivery process. However, from the moment her labor and delivery nurse, Madeline Miller, entered the room, Lindsay felt an immediate sense of calm and reassurance.

Throughout her labor and delivery experience at Medical City Dallas, Madeline provided attentive, compassionate care, ensuring Lindsay remained comfortable, informed, and supported every step of the way.

When the baby’s heart rate began changing with each contraction, Madeline closely monitored and carefully assessed the situation. Her calm demeanor and clinical expertise helped ease Lindsay’s anxiety during a potentially stressful moment.

Understanding how important a natural birth was to Lindsay, Madeline worked collaboratively with Kathryn Waldrep, MD, advocating for her patient’s birth plan while prioritizing the safety of both mother and baby. Through careful monitoring and skilled nursing care, they were able to safely manage the baby’s heart rate and support Lindsay in achieving the birth experience she hoped for.

Thanks to Madeline’s dedication, attentiveness and determination, Lindsay successfully delivered a healthy baby girl at Medical City Dallas.

Now two months old, baby Cecilie is thriving. In gratitude for the compassionate maternity care she received, Lindsay nominated Madeline for a DAISY Award, a prestigious recognition honoring nurses who make an extraordinary difference in patients’ lives.

For Lindsay, the expert labor and delivery team at Medical City Dallas made one of the most important days of her life not only safe, but truly special.
